The mistake is pricing unrestricted movement during Raise Shield as though it replaces every other defensive layer. What the Movement Modifier Actually Changes
Feathered Fortress grants Raise Shield and removes the movement speed penalty while the shield is raised. That distinction matters when approaching ranged enemies or repositioning during a boss attack sequence: you can maintain the stance without its usual movement slowdown. It does not promise immunity, unrestricted offensive actions, or protection against every encounter mechanic.
The practical gain is easier repositioning under pressure. Against a predictable frontal attack, moving while defending may preserve a safer angle for your next strike. Against dangerous ground effects, however, remaining in the stance is not the objective. Leave the affected area first; removing a movement penalty does not remove the need to dodge or disengage.
Leveling Value Depends on Your Existing Gear
