From 2–6 September 2026, the CARINA project was represented at Agrokomplex in Nitra, Slovakia, where project partner PEDAL Consulting presented CARINA alongside several other European projects at its exhibition booth.
Agrokomplex is a major agricultural exhibition in Slovakia, bringing together farmers, companies, experts, institutions and the wider public. This year’s event focused particularly on innovation and responses to drought, highlighting the importance of new approaches that can contribute to more resilient and sustainable agricultural systems.
Throughout the five-day exhibition, visitors to the PEDAL Consulting booth could discover European research and innovation activities covering agriculture, the bioeconomy, circular economy, climate adaptation and rural development.
Among the projects presented was CARINA, with information and communication materials introducing its work with camelina (Camelina sativa) and carinata (Brassica carinata) and their potential contribution to diversified farming systems and sustainable bio-based value chains.
Presenting CARINA in this setting provided an opportunity to bring the project’s work beyond the research community and introduce its activities to visitors with different backgrounds and interests.
Agricultural exhibitions such as Agrokomplex provide an important space for connecting research and innovation with the people and sectors that can ultimately benefit from new knowledge and solutions.
CARINA’s presence at the joint PEDAL Consulting booth enabled the project to contribute to this exchange while being presented alongside other European initiatives addressing complementary challenges across agriculture, sustainability and the bioeconomy.
The five-day event offered a valuable opportunity to increase awareness of CARINA, share its work with a diverse audience and engage in conversations around innovative crops and more sustainable approaches to agriculture and bio-based production.
