The 3rd General Assembly of the CARINA Project was successfully held in April, 2025 in Hammamet, Tunisia, bringing together project partners from across Europe to assess progress, share insights, and shape the future direction of CARINA’s mission to transform agricultural systems through sustainability and innovation.
Hosted by the Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique de Tunisie (INRAT), the three-day event featured a rich agenda designed to foster collaboration, reflection, and planning across work packages and thematic areas.
Participants actively engaged in:
Presentations of core Work Packages, highlighting developments in innovative farming systems, full biomass valorisation, policy co-creation, sustainability frameworks, social innovation, and communication strategies
A lively panel discussion featuring voices from the agricultural industry and research community
Participatory workshops and scenario planning sessions to align strategies and explore opportunities for scale-up
A field visit to local experimental sites and farms, offering first-hand insights into the regional context and practical implementation of sustainable practices
The Assembly provided a vital platform to exchange knowledge, strengthen partnerships, and reaffirm CARINA’s shared goal: to scale up sustainable, circular, and climate-resilient bio-based value chains centered around carinata and camelina.
We extend our sincere thanks to our hosts at INRAT and to all CARINA partners for their ongoing dedication and contributions.
Together, we are cultivating a greener future for European agriculture.
